Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using the SlayCal mobile application (available on iOS and Android), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not download or use the App. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and MirrorBit AI.

You must meet the following requirements to use SlayCal:

• You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher).
• If you are between 13 and 17 years old, you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
• You must have the legal capacity to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.
• Your use of the App must not be prohibited by any applicable law or regulation.

You may use core features of SlayCal without registering. To access premium features, sync across devices, and unlock the full experience, you must create an account.

When Creating an Account You Agree To:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information.
• Keep your login credentials confidential and not share your password with anyone.
• Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.
• Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

You may not create more than one account per person. Accounts created using automated methods or bots are strictly prohibited.

SlayCal offers sign-in via Google OAuth and Apple Sign in with Apple as convenient alternatives to email/password registration. By using either of these options, you agree to the following:

Third-Party Sign-In — General Rules

• Your use of Google or Apple sign-in is subject to their respective terms and policies, in addition to these Terms.
• We only request the minimum scopes necessary to create and maintain your account.
• We do not post, publish, or write anything to your Google or Apple account.
• Revoking third-party sign-in access does not automatically delete your SlayCal account. Contact us at [email protected] to delete your account.

Free & Premium Tiers

SlayCal offers a free tier with limited daily feature usage and a premium subscription that unlocks unlimited access to AI scanning, recipe generation, and advanced tracking.

Billing

• Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) platform you used to purchase.
• Payment is charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• Prices may vary by region and are displayed in your local currency at checkout.

Cancellation

• iOS: Cancel via Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → SlayCal.
• Android: Cancel via Google Play → Subscriptions → SlayCal.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain premium access until then.

Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google, not by MirrorBit AI directly. Please contact Apple Support or Google Play Support. We do not issue refunds outside of what the relevant app store policy permits.

"Your Content" means any data, text, images, or other information you submit to or generate within the App — including meal photos, food logs, health profile data, and recipe preferences.

Ownership

You retain full ownership of Your Content. We do not claim intellectual property rights over it.

Licence to Us

By submitting Your Content, you grant MirrorBit AI a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to store, process, display, and transmit Your Content solely to operate, maintain, and improve the App and deliver the services you request.

Meal Image Accessibility

Content Responsibility

You are solely responsible for Your Content. By submitting it, you confirm that:

• You have all necessary rights to submit the content.
• The content does not violate any applicable laws or third-party rights.
• The content does not contain malware, viruses, or harmful code.

You agree not to use SlayCal to:

• Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App, its servers, or related systems.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App.
• Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any harmful or disruptive code.
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access or extract data from the App.
• Circumvent or abuse daily usage quotas or rate limits.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
• Use the App for any commercial purpose without prior written consent from MirrorBit AI.
• Collect or harvest personal data of other users.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App or its infrastructure.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate termination of your account and access to the App, without notice or refund.

SlayCal uses AI-powered features including meal image recognition, calorie estimation, and recipe generation — powered by OpenAI's API (GPT-4o-mini).

Important Limitations

• AI-generated nutrition estimates are approximations and may not be 100% accurate. Portion sizes, preparation methods, and ingredient variations can affect results.
• AI-generated recipes are suggestions only and have not been reviewed by a nutritionist or chef.
• We are not responsible for any decisions you make based on AI-generated content.
• The AI may occasionally produce incorrect, incomplete, or unexpected outputs ("hallucinations"). Always apply your own judgement.

• Do not use SlayCal as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
• Always consult a qualified healthcare provider or registered dietitian before making significant changes to your diet, especially if you have a medical condition.
• If you experience any adverse health effects, stop using the App and seek medical attention immediately.
• Calorie and macro data is provided for general reference. Individual nutritional needs vary significantly.

All content, features, design, code, logos, trademarks, and trade dress of SlayCal — excluding Your Content — are the exclusive property of MirrorBit AI and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

These Terms do not grant you any licence to use MirrorBit AI's intellectual property other than as strictly necessary to use the App for its intended purpose.

"SlayCal" and the SlayCal logo are trademarks of MirrorBit AI. You may not use them without prior written permission.

Your use of SlayCal is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the App, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.

Key privacy commitments:

• We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.
• We do not use third-party analytics SDKs (no Firebase Analytics, Amplitude, or Segment).
• Health data is self-reported and never sourced from HealthKit or Google Fit.

THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

• We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
• We do not warrant that AI-generated nutrition or recipe information is accurate, complete, or suitable for your individual circumstances.
• We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time, with or without notice.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL MIRRORBIT AI, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Loss of data or profits
• Personal injury or health outcomes resulting from reliance on App content
• Unauthorised access to or use of our servers or personal information
• Interruption or cessation of the App's services

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE GREATER OF USD $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM ARISING.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless MirrorBit AI and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:

• Your access to or use of the App in violation of these Terms.
• Your Content that infringes the rights of any third party.
• Your violation of any applicable law or regulation.

Termination by You

You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by contacting us at [email protected].

We may suspend or terminate your access to SlayCal, at our sole discretion, immediately and without notice if:

• You breach any provision of these Terms.
• We are required to do so by law or a regulatory authority.
• We reasonably believe that your account is being used fraudulently or for illegal purposes.
• You engage in conduct that is harmful to other users, third parties, or the reputation of MirrorBit AI.

Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law) will remain in effect.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which MirrorBit AI is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall first be attempted to be resolved informally by contacting us at [email protected]. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, it shall be submitted to binding arbitration or the competent courts of our jurisdiction, as applicable.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will:

• Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
• Send a push notification or in-app alert to registered users for significant changes.
• Require you to re-accept the Terms if the changes are material.

Your continued use of the App after the revised Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the App.
